Tuesday 23rd March
We have student, parent and teachers conferences because we have to let our parents know what sort of things we are doing at school and what we are achieving in and what we want to achieve in.
We organise our student, parent and teacher conference by receiving a letter from the teacher and taking it home for our parents to see. Later on once our parents have signed the letter and select what time is suitable for them; we then must take the letter back to our teacher. The student, parents and teachers must meet at school in our classroom. Then the parents will see what we have been doing at school.
Why we have our parents and our teachers meet are because the teacher tells our parents how good the student has been at school and how we have been behaving. The parents go to the student, parent and teacher’s conference because the teacher needs to talk to our parents about what we have been doing and learning at school and the parent needs to know how our behaviour has been at school. We students go because we are the ones that interview our parents and let them know about what we have been doing at school.
It is important to have student, parent and teacher conferences because our parents have to know what type of work we are doing at school and to tell them what level we are in for every subject.

My Self Portrait
My Self Portrait....
I chose blue for my background because it represents my mood, and the mood I was trying to express was calm, peace and water. Calm represents me because I’m always calm. Peace represents me because I like to work and sleep in peace. Water represents me because I love to swim and if I was asked how long I like to swim I would say all the time.
I chose red for the colour of my shirt because it represents energy, attention and anger. Energy represents me because I have a lot of energy. Attention represents me because people with attention get noticed in a huge crowd. Anger represents me because when I’m not calm then I’m angry.
I chose blue, purple, yellow and red for my eyes because all these colours represent me. Like purple represents loyal and loyal represent me because I’m loyal to all my friends. And yellow represents happy, happy represents me because I’m happy and joyful all the time. And red represents me and blue represents me.

HOW LEARNINGS STRUCTRED IN ROOM5?
In room 5 we are studying how learning is structured in room5 and how we communicate at Sams.
At Sams we have rules to obey, its important to have rules to obey at school because we need rules to work by. Without rules at school no one at school will get an education later in life because no one will be turning up at class. And people will be using foul languages at teachers.
There is also task and activities which is everything at school like all subjects like maths, reading, writing and P.E which everyone is trying to achieve in. And we also do Kapahaka where we learn Waiatas- songs, poi’s and action to go with the waiatas- songs. There is also sports we do to keep us students energized and active. How ever 4 weeks ago our school went to Cambridge to compete against other schools at athletics which we came first in. Before long we had swimming sports which we came second in and we we were all happy about our second place winnings.
There are also things between the teachers and students like the students not behaving and the teachers having to sort it out then the students have to think of something to modify your behaviour like apologizing for having bad behaviour.

TOUCH
How to play touch?
What is touch about?
Touch is a fun game played out on the field, there a lot of obstacles you could do to practise touch, like practice passing or have a little practice game. And touch can actually be played by anyone and everyone, playing touch is all about teamwork.
Rules about touch
Touch is not a tackle game it is a touch game only six touches until you have to hand over to the opposite team. You do not touch your team mates you can only touch the other people on the opposite team. Speaking about players you can have up to six to fourteen people on a team.
Touch is a cool game played by anyone and everyone and you need teamwork. And touch is a sport being played all over the world by anyone at any age.
