I enjoyed term three because i have completed alot of work and i have achieved alot of goals. And i also enjoyed having the relieving teachers and espicially Miss Edwards and Miss Thompson. I also enjoyed spending some time with my mates because there cool mates. And i have only missed one day off school. Every day at this school i have made every day count. Although i am still in my same reading and maths groups i still achieved all the goals that i have set for myself. Even though we do least p.e this term has still been awesome. We sometimes play games with room 6. But the thing that i foound the hardest was fracions, but im starting to get the hang of it. I an getting better every day and every secound. I also wrote a narrative/story and posted it on my blog for eveyone to see. This term has been cool as, and i made every moment count.

Induction and transtion

Issue: we have a number of student’s feelings unsafe about S.a.m.s because parents think that we would set a bad example for little children like New Year 7 and 8.

Minor:
• How can we make our sams students participate in sams activities?
• Why do parents feel unsafe with letting their children in role at sams?
• What should we do to make parents and there children feel welcome to sams?
• What could sams do to make them safe?
• How could we make there parents feel more comfortable about bringing there student to saint Andrews?
• Could we help them to feel comfortable by coming to there school?
• How could primary kids be involed with older students?
• How could we make parents be involed in the situation at sams?
• How could the induction be?
• How could we help the community get involed with our school

Big Question:
How can we make parents and new student feel welcome and safe at sams.

you know thatyou should think twice about downloading your personal information, if other people see your personal information who knows what they would do with it. they could sell your ID and they could make hundreds. they can even find your address and find your house, or they can do worse. so think twice before you download your personal information.
In room 5 we have been learning about cyber safety, and im going to tell you about cyber bullying. i know that most of you know what cyber bullying is and for those who dont know then i will tell you. cyber bullying is when you get bullied by getting texts or email. And it can sometimes get spreaded around that school or even the town. And then once you find out. you start getting sad. and you wont feel like going to school. and the best thing to do is tell and adult, techer or your patents.
It was a hot and sunny say, the right day to go to the beach. so mum an i both hopped in the car and speed off to the beach. once we got there, the sand was as hot as lava, and the day was as hot as the sand. so i ran a nd jumped in to the water which felt like i had stepped out of lava and into ice cold water. i was swimming while mum was relaxing on the beach. she was a bear that couldnt wak up. i was still swimming but it was getting cold. so i got out and enjoyed the rest of the day.

This beautiful four story house has a beautiful balcony that could see the whole of Hamilton which is a beautiful view and also a spa on it so you can relax and look off the balcony at the same time. And as you walk around to the back yard you will find that the house also comes with a pool that has fresh water inside so you could take a swim on a hot day. And once you have finished taking a swim in the pool you slide the cover over it to keep it from receiving germs.

Inside the lounge sweet has been put into the lounge so you won’t have to spend a lot of money on the lounge sweet. MY INTERESTING ROCK

My rock is very exquisite it has angular edges, shiny dots and dashes of cream colour. It feels pointy as I squeeze the rock between the palms of my hand. When I run the water over the rock it changes colour from grey to pink so I’m saying that it turns darker. By the feeling of the rock and how soft it is, I am suggesting that it is from the road or from a river near the clay.

The rock also does not smell like anything so I am also suggesting it’s from somewhere fresh. The rock is also gritty which means that it is pretty mixed up like a bunch of stones cemented together.

Once I have dragged my finger across the rock it feels very rough and uneven.
It feels like I am touching harmless prickles. My rock is very precious and valuable, but the thing I like most about my rock is that it is interesting.

MY ROOM MY CASTLE?

My room is messy and I don’t like anyone to touch my room, I love it the way it is. I have two windows in my room and I have a huge drawer in my room that I don’t use. I hang my clothes in my wardrobe and I have a desk in my room that I use to put my books on. I have a bed with a leopard print blanket that I don’t like to sleep on, I like to sleep on the couch.

If I was to change my room to the ultimate dream room I wouldn’t change a thing because like I said, I love my room the way it is even though it’s messy. I like it the way is.

i have now said what i would and wouldnt like to do to my room.
although my room is a huge sight to see i would like to leave it the way it is, the only thing i would change is the colour of it and change it to the colour yellow because it is my favourite colour and when the sun hits yellow it looks awsome.

SCHOOL RULES?
At St Andrews Middle School we have rules to obey. At school it is law and without rules at school we would not be able to learn and we wouldn’t get an education when we are older. And at school we have steps to follow.

Step 1: if your teacher gives you a verbal warning for not behaving the way you should then your name is put on the board and you have to think of something to modify your behaviour.

Step2: then you have a discussion with your teacher and tell them why you have been misbehaving.

Step3: once you have had a discussion with your teacher and you still haven’t learnt your lesson, then now you must be in the time out area.

I have now told you our school rules and our steps that we must follow once we have misbehaved.

Tuesday 23rd March

We have student, parent and teachers conferences because we have to let our parents know what sort of things we are doing at school and what we are achieving in and what we want to achieve in.

We organise our student, parent and teacher conference by receiving a letter from the teacher and taking it home for our parents to see. Later on once our parents have signed the letter and select what time is suitable for them; we then must take the letter back to our teacher. The student, parents and teachers must meet at school in our classroom. Then the parents will see what we have been doing at school.

Why we have our parents and our teachers meet are because the teacher tells our parents how good the student has been at school and how we have been behaving. The parents go to the student, parent and teacher’s conference because the teacher needs to talk to our parents about what we have been doing and learning at school and the parent needs to know how our behaviour has been at school. We students go because we are the ones that interview our parents and let them know about what we have been doing at school.

It is important to have student, parent and teacher conferences because our parents have to know what type of work we are doing at school and to tell them what level we are in for every subject.

My Self Portrait

My Self Portrait....

I chose blue for my background because it represents my mood, and the mood I was trying to express was calm, peace and water. Calm represents me because I’m always calm. Peace represents me because I like to work and sleep in peace. Water represents me because I love to swim and if I was asked how long I like to swim I would say all the time.

I chose red for the colour of my shirt because it represents energy, attention and anger. Energy represents me because I have a lot of energy. Attention represents me because people with attention get noticed in a huge crowd. Anger represents me because when I’m not calm then I’m angry.

I chose blue, purple, yellow and red for my eyes because all these colours represent me. Like purple represents loyal and loyal represent me because I’m loyal to all my friends. And yellow represents happy, happy represents me because I’m happy and joyful all the time. And red represents me and blue represents me.

HOW LEARNINGS STRUCTRED IN ROOM5?

In room 5 we are studying how learning is structured in room5 and how we communicate at Sams.

At Sams we have rules to obey, its important to have rules to obey at school because we need rules to work by. Without rules at school no one at school will get an education later in life because no one will be turning up at class. And people will be using foul languages at teachers.

There is also task and activities which is everything at school like all subjects like maths, reading, writing and P.E which everyone is trying to achieve in. And we also do Kapahaka where we learn Waiatas- songs, poi’s and action to go with the waiatas- songs. There is also sports we do to keep us students energized and active. How ever 4 weeks ago our school went to Cambridge to compete against other schools at athletics which we came first in. Before long we had swimming sports which we came second in and we we were all happy about our second place winnings.

There are also things between the teachers and students like the students not behaving and the teachers having to sort it out then the students have to think of something to modify your behaviour like apologizing for having bad behaviour.

TOUCH

How to play touch?

What is touch about?
Touch is a fun game played out on the field, there a lot of obstacles you could do to practise touch, like practice passing or have a little practice game. And touch can actually be played by anyone and everyone, playing touch is all about teamwork.

Rules about touch
Touch is not a tackle game it is a touch game only six touches until you have to hand over to the opposite team. You do not touch your team mates you can only touch the other people on the opposite team. Speaking about players you can have up to six to fourteen people on a team.

Touch is a cool game played by anyone and everyone and you need teamwork. And touch is a sport being played all over the world by anyone at any age.
